What vaccines does my pet need?

Each country varies with their requirements. However, guarantee that a Rabies vaccine must be current as well as proof of vaccination. The pet's microchip number must be present on the Rabies certificate.

Does my pet need to be microchipped?

Almost all countries require an ISO microchip. An ISO microchip stands for International Standards Organization. What this means, is that overseas microchip scanners have the ability to read these specific type of microchips in order to relocate your lost pet. They're essentially universal. Your veterinarian should be ably to clarify if your pets' microchip meets ISO standards. If not, the manufacturer of the microchip will be able to do so.

What is the process?

Have a trip planned with your pet? We would suggest getting in contact with us prior to booking flights. Traveling internationally with your pets can be a complex process, so allow us to guide with you timely veterinary appointments to ensure you get USDA endorsement to enter another country with your fur baby!

We will need to gather a bunch of information to include on the health certificate. This means being in touch with you, as well as your veterinarian for vaccination status and records. We will provide you and your veterinarian with any necessary vaccines and internal/external parasitic treatments that are necessary to enter the country you are visiting.

Your pet will need to visit your veterinarian for an exam, in addition to any vaccines or treatments that are required, typically ten (10) days prior to departure. Once the exam is complete, the health certificate will be submitted (usually electronically) to the USDA for endorsement. Once endorsed you will either receive an original endorsed copy, via FEDEX, or an electronically endorsed copy, depending on the countries requirements.
